AWS unveils Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance

The GenAIIC connects customers with AWS AI/ML scientists and strategy experts, and helps companies envision, identify, and develop generative AI solutions.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) unveils the Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance to scale and expand the reach of the Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) program. Launched in June 2023, the GenAIIC helps customers successfully build and deploy GenAI solutions.

Specifically, the GenAIIC is a platform that enables customers to connect with AWS AI/ML scientists and strategy experts, and helps companies envision, identify, and develop generative AI solutions. According to AWS, since the program was launched, the GenAIIC has helped thousands of customers, including DoorDash, Nasdaq and the PGA Tour achieve success with generative AI.

Available globally, more than 50% of the proof-of-concept solutions developed through the GenAIIC are now in production for customers. The new Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance will provide customers access to a network of systems integrators and consulting firms around the world with proven expertise in GenAI that share in the GenAIIC's proven methodology.

The alliance will initially launch with nine partners bringing industry- and regional-specific expertise. They include Booz Allen Hamilton, Crayon, Escala24x7, Megazone Cloud, NCS Group, Quanitphi, and Rackspace. AWS will also engage with system integrators including Caylent and Deloitte.

The partners will bring added resources to scale the number of customers AWS can support with proof-of-concept and production implementations.

Sri Elaprolu, global head of the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center, at AWS explained that the approach focuses on empowering customers to identify and refine AI use cases that deliver tangible business value.

“We focus on developing end-to-end solutions and customizing foundation models when necessary to address specific needs, always prioritizing security and scalability. This customer-centric strategy has been instrumental in driving success through the GenAIIC,” said Elaprolu.

Elaprolu also mentioned that the growing network of partners will enable them to help more customers harness GenAI to drive innovation, productivity, and hone their competitive advantage.

For Julia Chen, vice president, Partner Core at AWS, GenAI is revolutionizing how businesses operate and deliver value to their customers.

"By combining our partners' deep industry, use case and services expertise with AWS's cutting-edge generative AI tools and proven methodology, we can help scale and accelerate the transformative power of this technology to customers worldwide,” said Julia.

Partners welcome Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance

The launch of the Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance was also well received by partners around the world. In Asia Pacific, Sam Liew, chief executive, Government Strategic Business Group at NCS Group believes the Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance will allow them to combine NCS' deep industry expertise in Asia Pacific with AWS's world-class generative AI services and proven innovation methodology.

"Through our NCS GenAI CoE for Public Good, we will work with AWS to empower more public sector organizations across the region to navigate the generative AI journey and unlock their potential by tailoring solutions to local languages, cultures and businesses environments,” said Liew.

Meanwhile, Elbano Milbelli P, principal cloud specialist (PCS) GenAI at Escala 24x7 commented that they are also committed to helping organization's leverage AWS services and GenAIIC's proven approach in Latin America and the Carribean. Escala 24x7 hopes to create customized language models tailored to the region's unique cultures and business contexts, empowering businesses to increase productivity and accelerate their cloud initiatives.

On GenAI capabilities and concerns, Florian Rosenberg, chief technology officer at Crayon commented that ensuring trust and compliance is paramount for enterprise adoption - especially in highly regulated industries.

"Through the Partner Innovation Alliance, we'll collaborate closely with AWS to implement rigorous security, risk management and governance frameworks that allow our customers across Europe to confidently and responsibly leverage generative AI's power,” said Rosenberg.

Looking at the opportunities of GenAI in the public sector, Alison Smith, director of generative AI at Booz Allen Hamilton said by combining Booz Allen's deep public sector expertise with AWS's Generative AI Innovation Center resources, they can overcome barriers to adoption and drive real impact through secure, ethical and compliant generative AI solutions.
