Bitdefender partners Cysurance for cyber insurance compensation in Asia Pacific

Bitdefender will provide up to US$1 million for APAC partners that adopt its managed detection and response (MDR) services, in the wake of security incidents impacting operations.

Organizations around the world are moving towards Managed Detection and Response (MRD) services as they look to deal with the evolving threat landscape. According to statistics, the global MDR market is estimated to be worth US$4.1 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach US$11.8 billion by 2029.

This huge growth represents a big opportunity for both tech vendors and their partners. Specifically, vendors will be relying on vendors to deliver more MDR services to their customers around the world.

In Asia Pacific, Bitdefender is allocating US$ 1 million in financial compensation for partners as a warranty. The new cybersecurity breach warranty program is for businesses that adopt its MDR services. Through a partnership with Cysurance, the program will offer up to US$1 million in financial compensation in the wake of security incidents impacting operations.

Kirsten Bay, co-founder and CEO of Cysurance commented that as the threat landscape grows increasingly complex, businesses should have confidence in the solutions that protect vital assets as well as access to financial resources that fund recovery efforts should a security incident occur.

“Bitdefender’s MDR services have been certified by Cysurance to reduce the likelihood, severity and impact of cyber incidents,” said Bay (pictured below).

Cybercriminal activities in Asia Pacific continue to be a concern for organizations especially with business email compromise, credential theft, malware, phishing, platform vulnerabilities, and more affecting a rapidly growing number of organizations across all industries. A recent survey of over 1,200 IT and security professionals revealed that more than half experienced data breaches or leaks in the last 12 months.

As such, businesses are opting for MDR services and Bitdefender is certifying is MDR offerings with Cysurance to ensure controls are properly implemented for new and existing customers. The cybersecurity warranty by Bitdefender will address compliance and regulatory shortfalls, legal liability, and financial loss in the aftermath of an incident.

In a statement, Bitdefender also highlighted that the Cysurance Certification Warranty will offer immediate financial protection at no additional cost for new or existing customers of MDR or MDR PLUS.
